250GB PS3 to release on November 3rd

Posted on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has just announced a new SKU that will be available o November 3rd. The new PS3 will contain a 250GB Hard Drive and will be price at $349.99. Now is a great time to get the PS3 slim with hit titles coming out this year such as Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Fallout 3 GOTY Edition and much more first party titles. So if you don’t have a PS3 you can still get the 120GB console or wait until November for a bigger Hard Drive.

No Content for you on the Slim! (For Now)

Here’s some new tidbit for those that can’t download their Game Content on their PS3 Slim. If you just recently bought a PS3 Slim and wanted to download your content to your Slim PS3 it will say to you “Please Deactivate a System”, I then decided to call Sony because I knew I only have 2 Systems the Original PS3 and the newest Slim version.

After being on hold, a tech support told me the reason and the reason is and I do quote him:

“I am not suppose to tell anyone about this but, since retailers sold the slim PS3 before the release day which is September 1st, the PlayStation 3 Slim was released with a small bug which prevents from downloading Video and Game Content since the firmware is not compatible with the content, this is why were releasing a patch (version 3.00) either later on today or possibly a day after”

So there you have it, don’t fret that the Slim won’t allow you to download your content it should be patched either later tonight or a day after like the tech supporter said.

UPDATE: It seems that this issue happens to certain slim consoles as it seems people can download there content.

UPDATE 2: 3.0 has fixed the bug, go ahead and download freely.

Rumor: PS3 Slim, ready to notify you at Amazon.de?

The Rumor is brought up again?

Once again the rumor just won’t die, it appears that Amazon.de is asking customers if you would like to get more info on when the item is available. Rumors were out for a while now but could this be the icing on the cake? or, is it really just another rumor? you make the call. Tell us what you think in the comments.

Rumor: PS3 Slim to come out in August?

In a recent 1UP podcast rumors have sprout up again. From the podcast:

“It’s gonna be in August. Everything I’ve heard says it’s coming in August, it’s tied with Madden.”

So with now with both IGN and 1UP saying that a slim is inbound, will the rumors continue? or can they be laid to rest?
