From the official PlayStation Press Site, Sony has released a fact sheet about their newly announced motion controller PlayStation Move. Here’s what’s listed in the Fact Sheet:

Consisting of PlayStation®Move motion controller, PlayStation®Move sub-controller and PlayStation®Eye camera, PlayStation Move enables sophisticated motion control and immersive gameplay only possible on the PS3 system.
PLAYSTATION®MOVE MOTION CONTROLLER
The corner stone of PlayStation Move, PlayStation Move motion controller combines advanced motion sensors, a dynamic color changing sphere, vibration feedback, and an easy to use button interface. Equipped with three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer and terrestrial magnetic field sensor, PlayStation Move motion controller tracks the precise movements and the angle of the controller. The PS3 system also detects the absolute position of the controller in 3D space by using PlayStation Eye camera. Highly sensitive movement tracking can be accurately traced back to the game, allowing intuitive gameplay as if the player is within the game.

GDC ‘10: PlayStation Move Announced Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

PlayStation has unveiled their Motion Controller at GDC

After countless months, Sony has officially announced the motion controller “PlayStation Move” at their GDC Press Conference. During the show, Sony showed off how the “Move” works and what kind of title’s will support the motion controller. Game’s shown using the controller, were LittleBigPlanet, Eyepet, and SOCOM 4. Others were in Pre-Alpha stage such as a Street Fighting Game, and a series of sport collections.

Sony also announced that the “Move” will be released this fall which will include the PlayStation Move, the PlayStation Eye, and Software that will come with it all for under $100.  We’ll keep you covered throughout this week at GDC.

SOCOM 4 Announced, No Seriously it Really is Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Get ready to move out this Fall

So, that PS3 exclusive announcement that everyone is waiting for tonight just got announced a little bit earlier. SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals has just been announced on the PlayStation Blog. Zipper Interactive will be the team behind the game and will constantly update us on what’s going on with their newly announced title. But what about MAG you say? Well have no fear, as Zipper will still be handling MAG and have some upcoming content for the title which should be revealed fairly soon.

Ok, so back to SOCOM 4, What happening this time around! For starters, your in a new five man squad who is sent to a South Asian country and must fight in Urban and Jungle environments within six days.  Yes that’s the single player portion and of course 32 multiplayer will still make an appearance for those classic SOCOM fans. Such a huge announcement for a Classic title, also be sure to check out GameTrailer’s TV tonight at 12:30EST/PST for the reveal trailer. SOCOM 4 hits this fall and be sure we’ll keep your covered on the latest happenings for SOCOM 4.

Uncharted 2 Update (1.06) Slides in Tomorrow Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

"Finally a patch is on the way"

Just as you thought, Naughty Dog will be updating Uncharted 2 tomorrow. After many players dislike the (1.05) update, Naughty Dog has decided to update the game with the following fixes:

  • Removed automatic shoulder selection when players click the L1 shoulder button to aim
  • Delayed the appearance of the scoreboard to allow time for players to view any medals received simultaneously with player death
  • Once the update goes live, Naughty Dog will begin testing the following tweaks:
  • Adjusted hitbox attributes so that players will take less damage to the character’s legs
  • Decreased kill radius of grenades by 1 meter
  • Decreased accuracy of Down the Irons by 15%
  • Reduced rate of fire of the FAL by 10%
  • Reduced rate of fire for the Dragon Sniper by 10%
  • Collision and geometry changes to “The Fort” to prevent intentional glitching by players

[Final Update] PlayStation Network is down Sunday, February 28th, 2010

The PSN is down so find something else to do for the time being.

To the users who are not able to log online to the PlayStation Network, that is because the PSN is down at the moment. Taking some PSN users by surprise, a lot of people are anxious to hop back online to continue fragging other users online. Sony is aware of the issue and has responded via Twitter by saying:

“We’re aware that many of you are having problems connecting to PSN, and yes, we’re looking into it. Stay tuned for updates.”

Hopefully the issue will be fixed soon so the mayhem can commence once again. We’ll keep you up to date on the progress of the PlayStation Network.

Update: Sony Has responded a second time regarding the status of the PSN issues via twitter:

“PSN status update: We’re narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all. Updates as soon as we have them.”

More updates as they come.

Final Update: The PSN is back online, Huzzah! You can now continue to play once again before the whole ordeal happened. Game on PSN users, Game On.

Incoming Patch for MAG (1.03) Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

The patch drops just like these guys.

Zipper has heard your cries and have released a patch note for the upcoming patch for MAG. while the game is still unbalanced this patch should have everything straight until another patch releases later on. Here is what patch (1.03) will contain as it drops tomorrow:

Gameplay

  • Overhauled tuning of multiple weapons of all types (see “Weapon” section below)
  • Improved speed of weapon and gear swapping by approximately 500 milliseconds.
  • Fixed bug in SVER’s Aralkum Mechanical Acquisition map and Absheron Refinery Domination map that allowed players to defuse a charge planted on a repaired gate or door.
  • Added a “solid tone” sound effect near the end of a charge’s beeping detonation timer so that players know when the charge can no longer be defused and that they should vacate the area.
  • “Medium Improved” Armor now works as intended with the speed properties of Medium Armor and a defensive value greater than Medium, but less than Heavy Armor.
  • Changed resuscitated player’s camera orientation to match the last camera direction used while incapacitated instead of the pre-harm camera.
  • Players no longer lose XP if a teammate is killed by an objective explosion caused by a charge they planted.
  • Respec Point requirements in Barracks have been changed from 3K, 5K, 10K, 17K, 26K, and 26K-Repeat to 1K, 2K, 3K, and 3K-Repeat.
  • Lowered the amount of damage necessary to kill an incapacitated enemy
  • All fired projectiles (RPGs, Turret Rockets) have been given a steadier aim.
  • Mines that haven’t been triggered are no longer removed from the map when the dead player that deploys them respawns unless that player changes their Loadout (note: The maximum number of mines you can plant cannot exceed the number you initially spawn with).
  • Players no longer lose leadership points after entering “Veteran Mode”.

PS3 Review – Bioshock 2 Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Splicers have grown more dangerous and gruesome from continued adam use.

Welcome back to Rapture!

Bioshock 2 takes place ten years after the events of the preceding game (now 1970) and the world of Rapture has taken a turn for the worse. The then decaying and leaking Rapture has entered a state of forsaken disrepair, including several locations that have been reclaimed by the sea. In Bioshock 2 you play as one of the first Big Daddies, named Delta. The main goal of this game is find your little sister, but each level has its own antagonist who will either attempt to guide or destroy.

Bioshock 2 DLC announced Monday, February 22nd, 2010

DLC will hit Bioshock 2 in March.

Just today, we have received word that 2K will be releasing Downloadable Content for Bioshock 2 in March. Here’s the full press release containing what will be included as well as price:

2K Games Announces Extensive Downloadable Content for BioShock® 2

New single player and multiplayer additions enrich the Rapture experience by adding a wealth of new content and features

New York, NY – February 22, 2010 - 2K Games announced today an aggressive post-launch downloadable content plan for BioShock®2 that extends and enhances the single and multiplayer experiences by adding more glimpses into the award-winning world of Rapture. Downloadable content will be made available soon beginning with the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, available this March from the Xbox® LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games for Windows-LIVE for 400 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation®Network for $4.99. Future expansions into the world of BioShock 2 are slated to arrive over the coming months and will continue to expand on the stories of the denizens of Rapture.

“The fans who waited in the snow, rain and cold for the midnight launch of BioShock 2 have spoken and their message is that Rapture still has many fascinating stories to tell,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Downloadable content is a key part of our efforts to continue to entice the fans that have made 2K a household name – we intend to deliver single and multiplayer content that respects and expands upon one of the greatest fictional worlds ever created.”

Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, the first of several planned downloadable packages, contains a number of customization features that will allow players to further their character’s development in BioShock 2’s multiplayer modes and provide a deeper multiplayer experience. The pack includes:

  • Rank Increase to level 50 with Rank Rewards
  • New playable characters Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca
  • 20 new trials*
  • A third weapon upgrade for each weapon
  • Five additional masks*

*Some items are only available after a player achieves a rank of 41 or higher.

In the coming months, 2K Games will also be publishing downloadable extensions of the single player experience that provide new insight into the world of Rapture. These packages will include more narrative, new tools and new challenges that extend the lore and fiction of the failed Utopia under the sea.
