After a long wait and with many guessing and knowing what Lightbox’s latest game is today is the day that many have long to wait for and that is the confirmed announcement of Starhawk for PlayStation 3. GTTV was the first to reveal the upcoming game early today and show off the singleplayer and multiplayer portions of Starhawk to the public for the first time ever despite the leaks early Thursday.

For those that are new to the announcement, Starhawk will feature a singleplayer story that mentions a final frontier about a useful resource called Rift Energy and how many want to get their hands on it. Playing as a mercenary named Emmett Graves who is infected from prolonged exposer of the Rift Energy, it is up to him and others to help stop those who will use it for the wrong reasons. Also featuring a new robust 32 player online filled with mechs and RTS like features, Starhawk is shaping up to be a great title of 2012.
