Jeanne D’ARC Review (PSP)
Great PSP game, a must buy!

Alright so I am wanting to start this review out by saying, if you have a psp this is a must buy. This game is over 40 hours long and has a great story behind it. This game only retails for $29.99 and for me has provided a lot of fun. I do have to say they let me get my hands on it early as you may tell the game does not ship till 08/21/07 and This is being published (not written) on 08/13/07. I want to thank SCEA for letting me get my hands on this great game and allowing me to cover it.
So let’s get into some details about this game, the back story is you are a young female hero fighting off the English in the Hundred Year’s War between France and England. Along with fighting France this young hero must fight off a demonic army that is attempting to destroy the human world. Now I’m sure that all sounds real mystical and fruity to some and I admit I am not a fan of games such as this although I got real into it.

You start this game’s menu I have to say has a beautiful background of one of the levels farther into the game. The menu is a church with many candles lit. If you sit at the menu screen it’ll go into a trailer type for the game. It has the voice of Jeanne D’ARC and a few other characters I shall not name. It shows game play and tells the story at the same time.

When you start a New Game it will start out with a movie playing that you can skip if you would like although I strongly suggest you don’t. The video goes to show two of the main characters and give a background of the game. It also gives you the history and details of the “Armlets” which is a huge part of the story; the video also shows you the main bad guy who you will fight towards the end of the game.

Once the scene of the “bad guys” ends it’ll take you to the Village from which Jeanne is from, where they are celebrating. It will introduce you to the three main characters of the game in this opening scene. It will then take you to the first level which is dark, has good sound and for this type of game I think is real nice looking. I do want to note that there are better more beautiful levels in this game. This is where the story truly started for me, I will not give out anymore detail about this although this is where it starts.

The combat in this game is a kind of “take turns” system is what I like to say. You get to move all of your characters once, and use an item or spell, until the person gets “locked” and you cannot move them, although if you have more characters on the screen you can move them and do their action.

Once you complete the Stage it will come up with a “Stage Spoils” screen and give you details such as the bonus exp and gold that you get from completing the stage, you also usually get bonus items, higher into the game those items are sometimes weapons which are very powerful.

Through-out the game you will gain more characters into your “ranks” and you will also loose some. The game as I said before has a huge story, and once the main story is over there are other side quest and more things that you can do. Heck you can even re-play the game again and choose different paths in the story for a slightly different game. As I said before I think everyone who has a PSP should go out and purchase this game at the bargain price of $29.99 we even are going to provide a link at bottom of article where you can purchase it from amazon at. This game gets a 90/100 and I hope you all enjoyed my review/run down of Jeanne D’Arc and hope you enjoy the game as much as I did!
