God of War “Three More Years!”

Although not an actual confirmation and most likely just a pinch of hope for a possible future, Sony’s Santa Monica Studio tells the world that God of War III is “not the end” for the successful action-adventure franchise.

Kratos apparently likes “all you can beat” body baskets.

Producer Steve Caterson refers to God War III as being the end of the trilogy, instead of the end of the line for all stops on the God of War Train.

“We didn’t leave you on a cliffhanger but I think it’s not the end of the franchise. I’m looking forward to do something different if we can.”

“It also might be nice to return to the franchise if we can and bring all that knowledge back from wherever we go. Anything’s possible. It’s premature to say what it might be, since I don’t even know what I’ll be doing next week.”

Despite there being no direct correlation to the Kratos story, as it would seem, this plan sounds much like the tactic that Hideo Kojima has laid out for his Metal Gear Solid franchise. Instead of tapping into more of the popular story head-on, the future looks to draw a path circling around it.
